Week Ending 2-24-13

Alooooooooha!
I really don't know what I've updated everyone on, so I'll just give everybody the highlights!

1)I've now been out for 8 months (crazy right?) That's 1/3rd of my mission gone! Time flies when you're working for the Lord my friends!

2)I'm still training Elder Johns here in Cumbernauld, so at the end of this new move, I'll have been here for 6 1/2 months! That's a pretty long time. But in addition to Training, I've just been made the District Leader! (GULP) Lots more responsibilities and duties, but I know that the Lord is helping me each and every step of the way! My great friend Elder Parsons who was the DL is now in Edinburgh, so here I am!

3)Moves week is always crazy. Because of trainers and DL training and everybody moving around, we ended up going to Glasgow wednesday morning to pair up with different Elders for the next 2 days. We spent the day in Glasgow City Centre (our P day), then I went to Airdrie with Elder Jackson, who is also a new District Leader. We then taught that night, then the next morning took the train to the Mission Home in Edinburgh where we got training on how to do what we're supposed to! It was really helpful!

4)WE'RE TEACHING A FAMILY!!!! The parents are named Marc and Jemma, and they're SUPER sincere about learning about the Gospel. Marc said something to the effect of: 'I just want to develop my relationship with God, and if the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith is that missing link, then I'm all for it; I just don't know yet.' So I was THRILLED, because I know that if he's honestly searching, that God will answer his prayers and tell him that it's true and he and his family will be baptized! It feels really great to know that people are coming closer to Christ because of what you're sharing with them. :)

5) I love the scriptures. I recently had a tough day, so I read the Beattitudes from 3 Nephi 12, and the Spirit hit me really strongly. God knows that we go through difficulties, but we're blessed when we endure them in His service. :)

Well I'm sorry that I've been slow on updating everything! I'll be better in the future!

Love you all!
Elder Crosby
