I'm still alive, don't worry!!!!
Hello eveyone! So sorry it's been so long since I've written. Honestly- if exciting stuff had been happening I'd have written much sooner, but the past few weeks have been sort of uneventful. On Feb. 3rd, the Cumbernauld ward had a special fast to bring new families into the ward through baptism. It was definitely a success. I'm pretty sure that almost everyone participated, and there has been a new energy towards missionary work in this area!
After asking our Bishop, Bishop Black, to pray about some streets for us to chap, he came back and also gave us the name a a former investigator (someone who was looking into the church in the past) and asked us to try by her. Her name is Kirsty, and when we did, she expressed a great desire to start learning again and to find out if what we shared was true! I know that the Lord inspired our Bishop to ask us to go see her, and I'm really excited to go back and invite her to find out these truths for herself!
That's what we do as missionaries. We invite. Our mission president has actually called us 'invitationaries' because that's our job! We invite people, and they can either accept it or decline it. It's all about their agency. :) I read a talk called 'Will you?' this week which was all about inviting people and letting them decide for themselves. So I've taken it to heart and I've been extending simple and direct invitations to people. 'Will you attend Church with us?' 'Will you set up a time that we can come and share this message with you?' 'Will you Pray to ask if this is true?' Those who are ready to accept it say Yes, and those who don't say No. It actually makes this whole missionary thing a lot simpler! :)
Last monday, most of the missionaries in the zone traveled down to Airdrie (the South-east edge of the Glasgow area) and we went all went bowling! It was SO much fun.
Also, Elder Johns and I decided to be a little adventurous with our dinner. We cut up pork chops, and mixed in fusili noodles, salad, then added a healthy dose of Sweet Chili Sauce and Nando's Hot Sauce to make a DELICIOUS stir fry. WOW it was good!
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone grow and progress further in the Gospel here in Cumbernauld!
Sorry to everyone that I've been rubbish at replying to letters lately! P-days are much too short! I'll fix it, I promise haha!
Just know I'd love to hear from everyone!
Have a fantastic week!
Love,
Elder Crosby
